Dye Sub Printer

Post by PhilipHowe »

Hi, I'm taking photography at

The Braiden Lee Prescott Appeal
Sunday, July 22 at 1:00pm at The Dray King, Long Lane, Hindley Green, Wigan (Greater Manchester), WN2 4XA..

Iron Man will be there and the organiser has had the idea of selling photos with him (the suit is awesome by the way).
Does anyon have a dye sub event printer, or know where I could rent one locally cheap as it will have to come out of the profits from the event, meaning they get less?

I have found a few online, but thought I'd ask the club if anyone had one to avoid the high costs. Also, if I find one and someone would like to help me out, quick processing the photo and printing it?

Thanks.

Just an update, in case anyone can help, I'm now looking at one of these: Canon SELPHY CP780

Hi Phil,
I am replacing my old pictro 3500 with a small easy sized dye sub in June so as to produce passports again.
You can happily rent mine for a tenner, and cost of material.
I wasn,t thinking of Canon to start with- being a Fuji lad- but the model has had some good reviews and the media seems inexpensive enough.
Let us know if this may be of use

Mike, I've just managed to buy a Canon Selphy CP400 from ebay for the grand sum of 99p. I only bought it to test the quality of the prints it produces, as the CP780 uses the same media, obviously, it is not an event printer.

I will have a look at yours online, thanks for the offer. I'll let you know if I ever become a northerner again, having spent this week in Heathrow, which is nothing short of delightful :? .

Thanks again.
